Open a 20-megapixels photo and try to make some changes, like "Duplicate a layer", make a "High Pass Sharpen", set the layer to a % in "Darken/Lighten Mode".Īfter a few steps more (not more than 5 layers), the redraw of image and the user interface is quite slow.
The user interface (UI) gets really slow and certain point. That's not exactly the problem, I never use Ctrl+C when working.

I suggest to add into a configuration switch - / Enable PSP backward compatibility when Copy/Paste. Shortly - in latest versions PSP every time Ctrl+C is used it copies a bunch of image formats into clipboard for "backward" compatibility. I've even disabled Cache Writing and Undo Steps, but it's really slow compared to older version of the same product (and 32-bit version).

I don't know you guys, but with PSP 10 was (by far) much quicker than X6-X7-X8.Īnd I'm just talking about simple actions like "Duplicating a layer", changing between layers, disabling layers, working with "Freehand Selection", making a Sharpen/Soften.Īnd I'm testing this new 64-bits versions versus PSP10 in the same computer (Intel I5, 16 Gb of RAM, Windows 7 64-bit and later Windows 10 64-bit) with 20-megapixels images. There are tons more ideas i have that would make psp x9 even better but for now this is all i can remember. these macro programs work with the already existing shortcut keys.

There are voice macro programs that make using this software so much more enjoyable and speeds up work time. Maybe a shortcut for saving a transparent image to PNG, instead of clicking file, export, as PNG then having to choose transparency tab, check each box then click ok then enter file name then click ok. There should be a default palette for accepted colors to choose from, the usual red green blue yellow orange purple. Make choosing brushes easier by letting us organize the list of brushes. There should be more setting options for gradients, theres only 3 or 4 we can choose from right now. think geometry, all of those geometric shapes out there. We should be able to enter in length of line width and angle before clicking to place line on layer. We have vertical and horizontal guide lines, but we should have diagonal guide lines as well, and to be able to adjust the exact angle. make sure the random feature works with scripts. Have a random feature that generates random settings like gradients, add noise, random colors, random sizes, random textures. I will try since I have not really got my feet wet with scripts yet. And Flip Horizontal flips the layer across its own local horizontal center. So Mirror Horizontal mirrors the layer across the horizontal center of the canvas. In that case Mirror is a global transform, flip is a local transform. X8 gave us back the global alongside the local.
These would flip the layer across its own center line horizontal or vertical as indicated by the name. After that we only had flip horizontal and flip vertical. These can be called global transforms as it's done according to the whole canvas. Mirror would flip the layer across the vertical center of the canvas. Flip would flip a layer across the horizontal center of the canvas. In versions pre-x4 there was only Flip and Mirror. LeviFiction wrote:Depends on which version you're using. You can also add the script to the menu if that helps. You can run that script anytime you want to perform that action. On your script toolbar hit record, then duplicate the layer you want to mirror, and then apply the mirror command. And Flip Horizontal flips the layer across its own local horizontal center.Īs for your wish, until they do make it you can easily accomplish that very thing with a quick script.
